The Student Housing Initiative investigates the factors that motivate student decisions on housing and relays insights to decision-makers in real estate and politics. SHI was founded in 2023 to address the lack of student representation in policy decisions on housing.
Since our inception, we have been actively taking strides to bring the student voice to the forefront of the housing debate. By pairing data-driven insights with informed thought leadership, we have established a track record of impact in Western Canada.

Gather nationwide data through a survey sent out to students in Canada with the intent of understanding their perspective on the current housing crisis.

Create a yearly outlook report to summarize data gathered from the survey. Pair information with current market overviews of the largest cities in Canada.

Apply the gathered research about student preferences and priorities to shape the process and development projects across the nation.
